Bobcats ALL-STARS is back for Season 2019/20
Season commences 10th November
Bobcats All-Stars Program – Kicking Off again in the Summer season 2019/20
Last year’s Bobcats All-Stars program was a huge success, providing the players with greatly improved skill development, and an opportunity to play against VJBL teams. Whilst last year was by invitation ONLY, this year we are opening it up to both Bobcats and non-Bobcats players who are looking to extend their skills and prepare themselves for possible VJBL next season, or just grow towards being the best player they can be. The All-Stars program caters for those with intermediate to advanced skills, and forms part of our pathway to VJBL. The program will consist of 1.5 hours of additional training each week (on Sunday mornings), and one tournament (the Australia Day Long Weekend Eltham/Dandenong Tournament)) to be played against the VJBL teams. Our coaches have a huge amount of experience and have been selected by our Coaching Director Luke Sunderland.
Bobcats All-Stars is like a junior rep program without all the Friday night traveling and games, with tryouts to be held for team selection. You get to compete against the other association and junior rep teams, at at least one tournament during the All-Stars season, and also get high intensity training and coaching. This training is based upon individual skill development, and team concepts along with some inter-team games. Tryouts will be held Sunday 27th October at Monash, your time will be emailed to you once you’ve registered but will be either 9am-10am or 10am-11am. The Bobcats Coaching team will be in attendance, conducting the tryouts and assessing players. We will email letters of invitation the following week.
What happens next:
- Accept your invitation
- Register your child. If you played last year, you may choose to just pay the registration component if your uniform still fits. If you haven’t played before, or need a new uniform, you will required to select both components.
- Attend selected team trainings. These take place on Sunday mornings at Monash University, Peninsula Campus. Your timeslot will be included in the letter of invitation.
- Learn new team concepts and individual skill development.
- Play games in tournaments.
Bobcats All-Stars will be having teams in the U/12 and U/14 age group for both boys and gir’s (numbers dependent). Our program is open to all Bobcats members as well as non-Bobcats (and only if you are not playing VJBL representative basketball) players with an intermediate to advanced skill level. The program is perfect for those looking to prepare themselves for Representative basketball next season or for those who are at a Rep level but don’t want to necessarily play Rep basketball. The commitment by each player and parent is until the end of February 2020.
This program will include a Registration Fee $275 (which includes court hire, Coaches, Tournaments, Administration and an exclusive ALL-STARS t-shirt) plus a Merchandise Fee $175 (which will include an All-Stars playing uniform, All-Stars backpack and Socks)
Training commences on the 10th November at Monash Uni Peninsula Campus.
Once you have received your ALL-STARS team confirmation email from Luke Sunderland, Coaching & Program Director, you may register for the ALL-STARS program below. This needs to be done prior to first training session on November 10th. If your registration has not been received by November 8th, your child will be unable to commence training until payment is received.
ALL-STARS Merchandise Pack.
This needs to be ordered by November 17th so the order can be placed and received well before final training session prior to Christmas. There will only be ONE ALL-STARS order placed so please do not miss out as your child will not have a uniform to play tournaments in.
If your child has previously participated in the ALL-STARS program and does not need a new uniform, you need not order this pack.
ALL-STARS Tournament Pass.
This needs to be paid for by January 10th.
In previous years, you were required to purchase a player pass along with spectator passes at the door on the day of the Dandenong – Eltham tournament. This year they have changed it so they are all pre-purchased and one set price so you can bring as many spectators as you like.
The pass is $55 per player for the whole tournament which covers all spectators they bring with them.
